As we prepare to welcome students back for another exciting school year, ILM Academy is delighted to introduce Aliyah Harris, M.Ed., as our new Vice Principal.
Vice Principal Harris joins ILM Academy with a passion for educational excellence and a commitment to helping every student reach their full potential. She shares the Academy’s belief that strong academics, Islamic character and meaningful partnerships with families provide the foundation for a successful education.
Originally from Philadelphia, she has spent thirty years in Houston and twenty of those years in education.
Looking ahead to the new school year, VP Harris is focused on supporting outstanding teaching, strengthening relationships between school and home, and ensuring every student learns in an environment where they feel safe, valued, respected and inspired to succeed.
“I am honored and excited to join the ILM Academy community as Vice Principal,” she says. “It is a privilege to serve in a school committed to academic excellence, Islamic character, leadership and service. I look forward to partnering with our students, families and staff to make this a successful and meaningful year for every child.”
VP Harris believes every student brings unique talents and potential to the classroom. Her goal is to help students develop not only academically, but also socially, emotionally and spiritually, while encouraging confidence, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning.
As the new school year begins, she is eager to build strong relationships with students, parents and staff, working together to continue the nurturing, values-based environment that makes ILM Academy such a special place.
“I still love going into the classroom,” she says. “I’ll sub anytime. Just call me. I’m here to support the teachers, and clear any roadblocks that they’re facing. Our goal is to make sure every child is successful.”
