The ILM Expansion Story: Where we have been
From seven students in 2006, to currently serving close to 300 students in 2026, ILM continues to grow and thrive, Alhamdulillah. The recent purchase of our Montessori campus and space for doubling our elementary classrooms will allow us space for another 100 students inshallah over the next several years.

ILM Academy Rising: Building Space, Raising Generations
Our ILM Academy Rising campaign marks a defining chapter in our school’s journey to serve Houston’s growing muslim community. In 2025, this campaign funded the partial opening of our second campus – providing a nurturing space providing a Montessori based Islamic education for our youngest Muslim students.
The vision doesn’t stop there – we are working not only to complete our second campus – but also to expand facilities on our main campus to meet our students’ needs. Every dollar raised is a sadaqa jariyah that goes directly towards the planning and building of these spaces where our students thrive and grow as the future generations of American Muslim community builders.
A New Montessori Campus: In Progress
A Second Campus Opens
Purchased in 2023 for $2.2 million with the help of a one million dollar interest free loan, the 15,000 square foot building at 1270 Conrad Sauer has allowed us to double our Montessori program in size and alleviate wait lists. By moving our Montessori students to this new campus, we now have space to double elementary classrooms for grades one through five on our main campus.
We were thrilled to welcome our first Montessori students onto the partially renovated new campus for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Next Steps: Completing the Montessori Campus
With two-thirds of the new campus renovated, the work is not complete.
As of Fall 2026, our generous community has invested $3 million into this campus, and we are almost there insha’Allah!
With $600k remaining on the building loan and an estimated $900k remaining in renovations, we have $1.5 million left to go.
Once we reach our goal insh’Allah, our Montessori campus will include a multifunctional community space as well as additional infant and toddler classrooms for our Early Childhood program.
Main Campus Dreams
ILM just keeps on Rising Alhamdulllah – and so of course our dreams go beyond completing our second campus.
As our Main Campus student population grows, we know our students need a true gymnasium and cafeteria space, more classrooms, a creative maker space, a dedicated rayer space, and we are doing dua, a community coffee corner!
